2010 Invasion Charity Information

As we have at all of the past Invasions, we will be asking for a small donation ($3 per car) as entry to the Invasion and will be donating some of the proceeds from the T-shirt sales ($2/shirt) and all of the proceeds from the silent auction to a local charity. The Ronald McDonald Houses have become the traditional charity for the Invasions. In 2010 we will donate the registration fee and the shirt proceeds to the Ronald McDonald House of the Four States in Joplin, MO.

Past Invasion Charity Information

Brian Fye started a really good thing with the first Invasion by selecting a local charity and asking everyone to give a $2 dollar per car donation to the charity as an enterance fee for the Invasion. We also donated $2 from every Invasion t-shirt sold to the charity. The Ronald McDonald House in Boise received approximately $300.

We were proud to continue that tradition with the 2004 Invasion. We again selected the Ronald McDonald House, this time in Hershey, as the official charity of the 2004 Invasion.

We collected a $2 per car donation at the gate and donated $2 from every Invasion shirt sold and 25 cents from each dash plaque/magnet. We were able to donate $420 to the Hershey Ronald McDonald House. Thanks everyone.

We continued the tradition in 2006 with a total donation from the registration fees, shirts, and silent auction of $820. We were also able to donate $250 to the Myrtle Creek Parks adn Recreation Department for their pool maintenance. Thank you to everyone that attended the Invasion, donated items to the auction, bid on auction items, or bought Invasion shirts.

Here are the letters we got back from RMH....

Subject: Thank you for the donation to Ronald McDonald House!

Hi Brian,

We received the generous $820 donation that you left over the Thanksgiving Holiday. I am sorry I was not here to meet you!

We did a little online research to try to figure out what T3 Invasion was and eventually found the website for your 2006 event. Thank you so very much for supporting Ronald McDonald House Charities through your silent auction and Invasion this year. We normally call donors to thank them for gifts of this size, but could only find your email, so I hope you don't mind me sending along this note of thanks (in addition to the mailed thank you that you will soon receive).

Thank you again for thinking of us and it was fun to learn about your group!

Best,
Kimberlee

Following the 2008 Invasion, I had the honor of representing our wonderful Type 3 community today when I presented the Ann Arbor Ronald McDonald House with a check from the Type 3 Invasion in the amount of $1230.75!

Thank you again to all those who donated items for the charity auction and/or participated in the Invasion this year. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
